GHK-CU

GHK-Cu is the copper(II) complex of the naturally occurring tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine (Gly-His-Lys), in which the peptide coordinates a single copper(II) ion in a 1:1 stoichiometry to form a characteristic deep cobalt-blue complex. First isolated from human plasma by Pickart in 1973, GHK is a small signal-peptide sequence; the copper-bound form is the compound most often referred to in the literature as "copper peptide" or "copper tripeptide-1."
