Thymosin Alpha-1 — also referred to as TA-1, TA1, Tα1, and by the INN thymalfasin — is a synthetic 28-amino-acid N-terminally acetylated peptide corresponding to the amino-acid sequence of the endogenous thymic peptide first isolated and sequenced by the laboratory of Allan L. Goldstein (originally at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and later at George Washington University) from thymosin fraction 5. The peptide has an approximate molecular weight of 3108.3 g/mol and CAS number 62304-98-7.
